Effingham High School Football Mitigation Plan

In accordance with IDPH and IHSA guidelines, Effingham High School has developed the following guidelines for all home football events that will occur during this year. It is our goal to hold all scheduled contests for our student-athletes. In order for this to occur, we need the full cooperation of visiting schools, spectators, athletes, coaches, and officials with the requirements that are listed below. Please understand that these requirements may change and we may be required to change our procedures for hosting events. If there are any changes to these procedures, we will communicate them as quickly as possible through our athletic webpage and the media.

- It will be the responsibility of the visiting school to certify that their athletes and coaching staff are COVID-19 symptom free prior to arrival.

- There will be NO admission charged to enter the football contests at Effingham High School.

- There will be cleaning stations on the grounds and fans are asked to use the station while on the grounds.

- Restroom facilities will be available to all guests.

- All visiting schools must follow the guidelines that have been set forth by the IDPH and IHSA in regards to participating in athletic contests. This includes coaches being masked at all times, players wearing masks as per their sport specific guidelines.

JV Football Games at Effingham – games will be streamed, but there will not be any tickets required or attendance limits due to the smaller crowd sizes. All other information below will apply.

Varsity Football Games at Effingham

- We will allow 20% capacity into Klosterman Field. Some of the admission will be standing room only due to the social distancing guidelines and limited seating. Varsity HOME and AWAY ticket distribution will be done through the students who are participating in the specific contest depending upon the number of tickets available. THERE WILL BE NO GENERAL ADMISSION INTO ANY VARSITY CONTEST – HOME or AWAY. Everyone must have a ticket given to them by an athlete. Each athlete will be allotted tickets by grade level and those students will determine who will attend the contest to support them. Coaches will be allowed 1 pass for his/her spouse.

We ask that the Home Fans sit/stand on the home side while the visitors all sit/stand on the visitor’s side. Social Distancing will be required by families and everyone must wear a mask. Effingham (at HOME) will receive 500 tickets. Visiting Team (at Effingham) will receive 150 tickets. - Fans will enter Klosterman Field at the ticket booths located on either side of the complex football field. - Fans should not arrive any earlier than thirty minutes prior to the scheduled start of the contests. - All spectators will be required to legibly sign their ticket which will certify that they are COVID-19 symptom free before they enter the facility. Once spectators enter the facility, they can move toward either the stands or to the standing room only area surrounding the football field. ALL FANS MUST WEAR THEIR MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCE WHILE ON UNIT #40 PROPERTY.

Varsity/JV Football Games AWAY – Attendance procedures will be determined by the hosting school.

-Concessions will not be available, but guests of athletes may bring in bottled water.

- Team Benches: will be extended from the 10 yard line to the other 10 yard line. Please remind your athletes to wear their masks and social distance while on the sideline.

- Cheerleaders: will be on the track behind their team bench and must minimize contact between individuals by maintaining at least 6 feet of distance on the track during routines before and during halftime of the game.
