Ex-NFL wide receiver and Players Coalition co-founder Anquan Boldin commended Tom Brady Monday for signing a letter that calls on the Justice Department to open an investigation in the February death of Ahmaud Arbery, who was black, was shot and killed after a white father and son followed him in a truck after seeing him running in their Georgia neighborhood, telling police he looked like a burglar seen on surveillance video.
Gregory and Travis McMichae weren't arrested until last week, after cellphone video of the killing surfaced. Brady was one of several white players among the 63 who signed the letter. Boldin said on ESPN, “I think it’s very significant. Especially having Tom be a guy who hasn't been involved in politics at all. . . . But it just goes to show that people are tired of [the injustice] happening.”
