Tom Brady finally ended the suspense Tuesday, announcing that he’s leaving the New England Patriots after two decades and six Super Bowl titles.

Multiple reports said the 42-year-old quarterback is expected to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brady broke the news on social media, saying, “my football journey will take place elsewhere,” and thanking the Patriots and their fans.

Coach Bill Belichick said in resoponse, “It has been a privilege to coach Tom Brady for 20 years.”

Deals Involving Quarterbacks

There were media reports Tuesday about several deals involving NFL quarterbacks.

Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints agreed on a new two-year, $50 million contract.

Longtime Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers agreed to a one-year, $25 million deal with the Indianapolis Colts.

And the Carolina Panthers agreed to a three-year, $63 million contract with quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. The Panthers announced earlier in the day they were parting ways with quarterback Cam Newton.
