Named Offensive Special Award varsity winners were, left to right, Logan Brown, Jett Gillum, Nate Shackelford, Tristin Duncan and Ivan Angel.
Effingham High School football players and cheerleaders were honored with a banquet and awards ceremony Thursday evening at the Hearts Rock Cafe.
Earning varsity football awards were:
Logan Brown (George Wenthe Sportsmanship), Gabe Kihne (Jack Klosterman Hang Tough), Tristen Elkin (Jack Klosterman Hang Tough), Trevon Benavides (Jack Klosterman Hang Tough), Mason Hasty (Chris Hutts Bandit, Defensive Most Valuable Player), Austin Herboth (Lineman of the Year), Nate Shackelford (Offensive Most Valuable Player), Tristin Duncan (Offensive Most Valuable Player), Parker Wolfe (Defensive Most Valuable Player), Jacob Stoneburner (Special Teams Most Valuable Player), Ivan Angel (Special Teams Most Valuable Player) and Jett Gillum (Varsity Most Improved).
