San Francisco's Win May Have Been Costly

The San Francisco 49ers wild win against the New Orleans Saints has proven costly as starting center Weston Richburg is out for the season with a torn right patellar tendon. Coach Kyle Shanahan also announced cornerback Richard Sherman and defensive end Dee Ford would miss a few weeks due to injury.
Colts' Vinatieri On Injured Reserve
The Indianapolis Colts have placed kicker Adam Vinatieri on injured reserve with a left knee injury, ending his season and possibly his career. The 46-year-old Vinatieri will reportedly have surgery on his knee, which has troubled him all season.
Seahawks' Penny Done For Season
Seattle Seahawks running back Rashaad Penny is done for the season with an ACL injury he suffered Sunday night against the Los Angeles Rams. It’s not yet known if Penny will need to undergo surgery.
Cowboys Waive Kicker
The Dallas Cowboys have waived kicker Brett Maher and signed Kai Forbath as his replacement. Maher is the third kicker the Cowboys have used this season and he’d missed 10 of his 30 field goal attempts, including four in the last three weeks.
NFL Investigating Patriots
The NFL is investigating the New England Patriots over allegations they illegally recorded the Cincinnati Bengals sidelines during Sunday's game. The Patriots were home against the Chiefs on Sunday, but apparently sent a video crew to scout the Bengals for this week’s game.
Heisman Trophy Finalists
This year’s Heisman Trophy finalists have been announced. The four players earning invitations to this Saturday night’s ceremony in New York City are LSU quarterback Joe Burrow, Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields, Ohio State defensive end Chase Young and Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts.
Jeff Scott Hired as South Florida Coach
Clemson co-offensive coordinator Jeff Scott has been hired as South Florida's new head coach. Scott will assume the post following Clemson’s playoff run.
