Colts Agree To Deal With QB, NFL Season To Start

The Indianapolis Colts have agreed to a two-year, $30 million deal with new starting quarterback Jacoby Brissett. The deal calls for $20 million of that to be guaranteed. The Colts also signed Brian Hoyer to a three-year, $12 million deal to serve as a backup for Brissett after he was released Saturday by the New England Patriots.


Chargers' Gordon Seeking Trade

Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon still has no intention of reporting to the team ahead of Week 1. Gordon is seeking a trade and the team gave him permission to seek one.


South Carolina QB Out Indefinitely

South Carolina starting quarterback Jake Bentley is out indefinitely with a foot injury and will be replaced by true freshman Ryan Hilinski in the Gamecocks' home opener vs. Charleston Southern on Saturday.


Jackson State Team Mascot Penalized

Jackson State drew a 15-yard unsportsmanlike penalty in Sunday's game against Bethune-Cookman. However, it wasn’t a player that was penalized, but the team mascot. After Jackson State's Jordan Johnson caught a long touchdown pass there was a scuffle and their Tiger mascot joined in and tried to pull players off his wide receiver.
