Tailgating For The Tunnel Of Heart Pride Event July 14

The Tunnel of Heart Pride, a transformation of the blank tunnel leading to the Effingham High School football field, will be from top to bottom with a 90 foot mural that will represent Heart Pride for decades to come.

Two-thousand-one EHS graduate, artist and owner of StangARTS, Jamie Stang, has paired up with Brown Painting to get this project going. A two-hundred plus hour mural will be painted from top to bottom encompassing all the loves, support and pride that walks this tunnel. A vision of hometown roots will come to life in each paint stroke.

The Football Moms will be having  a “Tailgating for the Tunnel” Event Sunday, July 14 from noon to 3 p.m. at Effiingham High School to raise money for this mural, supplies and manpower that it will take to conquer it before the season.

The meals will be provided by Country Rhodes Catering. Adult meals are $11 and children 12 and under $6. All you can eat menu of: fish, chicken strips, mini shrimp, steak fries, baked beans, potato salad, cole slaw and applesauce. Carry out meals will be available.

Music will be provided by Ben Jamin’ Mobile DJ Service. Face painting provided by Stang Arts

All proceeds from this event will go towards the cost of the tunnel being transformed into a unique work of art representing community pride.
