Another Effingham Hearts football record fell in Friday night's win at Mattoon, and more are within reach.
Hearts quarterback Landon Wolfe had already set a single game passing yardage record (343 yards) and the career passing yardage record this season (3,029 yards). Add to that list the single-season passing yardage record. Wolfe has now thrown for 1,633 yards this season. That eclipses the previous season mark of 1,597 set by Ryan Geltz in 2003.
Wolfe could set several more records. Completions in a season -- he currently has 101 and needs 21 to break the record of 121 held by Ryan Geltz; TD passes in a season -- he currently has 18 and needs three to break the record of 20 held by Roger Arnold and Career TD passes -- he currently has 30 and needs three to break the record of 32 held by Bob Walls.
Tristan Duncan also has set or tied records. Duncan broke the record of 180 receiving yards in a game with 264 against Macomb. Logan Ellington held that record. He also tied a a record held by Gale Lister, Mike Tegeler and Jared Holtz with four touchdown receptions in a game against Macomb.
They have scored the most points in a game with 64 against Mahomet-Seymour.
