NFL Owners Approve Rule Changes

NFL owners have approved several rules changes. New kickoff rules will be in place in an effort to reduce high-speed collisions.

Another new rule calls for the ejection of any player who initiates contact with his helmet after a video review of the play. One proposed rule that wasn’t approved was a 15-yard penalty on any team with a player that kneels for the national anthem.

 

Eagles Release Kendricks

The Philadelphia Eagles have released linebacker Mychal Kendricks. However, they may want to reconsider as a short time later, newly signed linebacker Paul Worrilow suffered a torn ACL after colliding with a teammate during practice.


Chargers' Henry Tears ACL

Los Angeles Chargers tight end Hunter Henry tore the ACL in his right knee on the first day of OTAs Tuesday and is likely done for the year.


Jets Send Hackenberg to Raiders

The New York Jets have sent quarterback Christian Hackenberg to the Oakland Raiders. Hackenberg never played in two seasons with the Jets, who get a 2019 conditional seventh-round pick.
