The final football rankings from the Associated Press has Effingham ranked in eighth place, a drop from the last several weeks at seventh place.
The Hearts are in the Class 4A State Playoffs this coming Saturday. EHS finished the regular season with an 8-1 record and is the Apollo Conference's representative as the champion with a 6-0 mark. The Hearts got a home game and will play host to Manteno Saturday.
Gates will open at 12:30 p.m. for the 2 p.m. contest at Klosterman Field. There is a flat $5 admission fee for every person attending Saturday's game. Remember, regular season passes don't work for post-season play; everyone attending will be charged the $5 fee.
