The Effingham County Storm closed their regular season with a rush, making the playoffs in the process.

The Storm downed the Sangamon County Seminoles 37-26 Sunday at Evergreen Hollow Park. That allowed them to fnish the regular campaign on a three-game win streak and reach .500 at 4-4.

The month of May was good to the Storm who had opened the season with three straight losses. Things began to turn around with an April 17 win over the Twin City Jets. After a loss to the Illinois Thundercats on April 24, the Storm went 3-0 for May, with wins on the road over the Iowa Liberty and the Piatt County Panthers before Sunday's home win.

The Storm has a week off before beginning postseason play.
