Effingham High School Friday night football is always fun and exciting, but nothing makes it more fun than playing for a good cause. On Friday, October 12, Effingham High School football is partnering once again with St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital’s Women’s Wellness in their 2012 “Real Men Wear Pink” campaign. The theme of the night is “Playing Tonight for a Cure Tomorrow” as everyone is asked to deck out in pink to support breast cancer awareness.
“Real Men Wear Pink” hits the playing field during this football game against Mount Zion as the Effingham football team dons pink shoelaces to show support for the cause. Effingham High School is printing and selling pink T-shirts to students to wear the night of the game.
St. Anthony’s colleagues will be offering free seat cushions to those attending the game (while supplies last). Pink hair extensions, pink wrist bands and other pink merchandise will be available for purchase at the game. Funds raised from the purchase of these items will benefit breast cancer awareness and education at St. Anthony’s.
So come to the Effingham High School football game against Mount Zion, Friday, October 12 at 7 p.m. at Klosterman Field, and paint the game pink to support breast cancer awareness. It’s what a real man would do.
