EHS JV Football Picks Up Win Over Taylorville

Taylorville edged out to a 7-6 opening quarter lead on Effingham in junior varsity football competition Monday evening. The Tornadoes held a 14-6 lead at halftime.
But the Hearts came back with two touchdowns in the third quarter and a final touchdown in the fourth to pull out the 26-14 victory.
Kendall Ballman had seven carries for 41 yards and a touchdown. Tyler Marschewski had 12 carries for 21 yards and Braden Hasty had four carries for 10 yards.
Lucas Vasquez connected on seven of 12 passes for 119 yards and two touchdowns. Jacob Miller had six catches for 90 yards and pulled in the two touchdown passes. Dylan Bushur had one catch for 29 yards.
Defensive leaders included Tyler McGregor with eight tackles, Jakob Conrad with seven tackles and Alec Morrissey with six tackles and one interception. Vasquez, Marschewski and Ballman all had an interception each.
