AP Releases Pre-Season High School Football Poll

The Associated Press released its pre-season high school football poll for the eight classes Wednesday.

Galena drew the top spot in the Class 1A poll while Rockridge took No. 1 in Class 2A. Wilmington had eight first-place votes to get the nod in Class 3A. Rochester took 12 first-place votes in Class 4A. Nazareth is listed first in Class 5A while Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin is tops in Class 6A. Glenbard West and Homewood-Flossmoor are No. 1 in Class 7A and 8A respectively.

The lone local school breaking into the top 10 in any of the polls was Casey-Westfield ranked 10th in Class 1A.
