EIU Blue/White Spring Football Game Saturday

CHARLESTON, Ill. -- Eastern Illinois football will wrap up its spring practice schedule this Saturday April 25 with the annual Blue/White Spring Game at 12 p.m. at O’Brien Field. This year’s format will pit the offense against the defense in a modified scoring system. Admission to the Spring Game is free.

The Panthers will open the 2015 regular season on Thursday, Sept. 3 at Western Illinois. Additional road games next season are Sept. 12 at Northwestern, Oct. 3 at Austin Peay, Oct. 17 at Tennessee State, Oct. 31 at Murray State and Nov. 14 at UT Martin.

The Panthers 2015 home opener will be Saturday, Sept. 19 against Illinois State in the Mid-America Classic. The game will kick off at 6 p.m. The other four home games on the schedule will all have 1 p.m. kick offs. EIU hosts Southeast Missouri on Oct. 10 for Family Weekend. Tennessee Tech comes to O’Brien Field on Oct. 24 for Homecoming. The Panthers host Jacksonville State on Nov. 7 and Eastern Kentucky on Nov. 21. Season tickets will go on sale Monday, April 27, and can be purchased by calling 217-581-2106 or online at www.eiupanthertickets.com In addition to season tickets, fans and alumni may purchase tickets for the Northwestern game by calling the EIU ticket office. Single game tickets for EIU home games will go on sale on Monday, August 3.

Offense – Normal Scoring format

Defense – 12 points for defensive touchdown, 6 points for a takeaway, 3 points for a 3-and-out, 1 point for a drive stop

Timing for Spring Game

12 minute quarters – normal timing 1st half

10 minute halftime

12 minute quarters – running clock 2nd half
