EDWARDSVILLE – Ever wish you could get your photo on the videoboard? Or pick the songs that get played at the games? Or be selected as the halftime contestant? Well, now you can with CougarFanZone.com that was launched today by the Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville Athletics Department.
Share your stories, post photos, provide feedback after the games and win prizes just for joining the conversation. The Cougars want to hear from you. Be part of the social hub -- no matter where you live -- by jumping on your favorite social platform:
Facebook: Post photos and comments on the Cougars’ timeline to tell us why you love SIUE
Twitter: Use #SIUENation whenever you want to share information with the Cougar Nation
Foursquare: Receive discounts from the Cougars and their sponsors when you check in at games and sponsor locations. Increase your chances of winning by telling us where you’re sitting at the games when you check in.
YouTube: Check out videos posted by the Cougars or upload your own for a chance to be included on the social hub
Poll Question: The Cougars want to know what you want to see this year, so be sure to vote in the polls each week.
“Our fans all like to communicate differently, so we wanted to create a home base where we could have conversations with them, as well as allow fans to talk to each other,” said Jason Coomer, Senior Associate Director of Athletics for External Affairs. “The social hub provides a place for everyone to be heard.”
Whenever you participate, you increase your chances of winning prizes from places such as ShopSIUECougars.com to Qdoba. Winners will be picked every week with extra chances to win on Cougar game days.
“We are thrilled that our online team store, Qdoba, and many more SIUE corporate partners have teamed up with us for this initiative,” said Mason Glick, Assistant Athletic Director for Sales and Marketing. “With the support of our partners, we are able to thank our fans for their support of the Cougars.”
The Athletics Department wants to thank as many fans as possible, so even if you aren’t hooked on social media yet, you can still be part of the fun. Simply fill out the online form for a chance to win. If you have questions about how CougarFanZone.com works, please email mglick@siue.edu for more information.
