(Miami, FL) -- BYU quarterback Christian Stewart threw a game-ending interception to seal a 55-48 win for Memphis in double-overtime in the inaugural Miami Beach Bowl at Marlins Park.

Tigers kicker Jake Elliot made a 55-yard field goal to force overtime. Paxton Lynch accounted for seven touchdowns, including the game-winning pass to Roderick Proctor. Memphis improved 10-and-3 in a game sullied by a postgame brawl that involved many players from both teams.

It is the Tigers' first bowl victory since 2005. Stewart threw for 349 yards and three touchdowns for the Cougars, who fell to 8-5 to finish the season.
