Effingham Football Players Earn Awards at Banquet

Varsity award winners were, left to right, Kevin Daugherty, Carter Hayes, Travis Durbin, Zach Miller, Blake White, Jordan Coleman, Khole Moran and Billy Arndt.

Effingham High School football players and cheerleaders were honored Saturday evening with a banquet and awards ceremony at the Hearts Rock Cafe.

Travis Durbin captured two varsity awards. Durbin won the Chris Hutts Bandit award and the Outstanding Defensive award. Kevin Daugherty captured the George Wenthe Sportsmanship award. Blake White picked up the Jack Klosterman Hang Tough award. Carter Hayes claimed the Hustle award. Most Improved Senior award went to Jordan Coleman. Zach Miller was named the Outstanding Offensive Back. Billy Arndt took the Outstanding Defensive Lineman and Khole Moran won the Outstanding Offensive Lineman.

Letters went to captains Kevin Daugherty, Zach Miller, Billy Arndt and Khole Moran. Also earning letters were Evan Boggs, Carter Hayes, Travis Durbin, Michael Carie, Wyatt Kahley, Jordan Coleman, Kayne Verdeyen, Nick Burger, Noah Lohman, Drew Vasquez, Griffin Paige, Joe Nieman, Ryan Hails, Blake White, Grant Pigguish, Alex Ramos, Hudson Graham, Lane Koenig and Hunter Diveley.

Alex Ramos won the junior varsity Bandit award. Blake White picked up the junior varsity Mr. Hustle. Gabe Herron won the junior varsity  Defensive Most Improved and Hudson Graham picked up the junior varsity Offensive Most Improved.

Freshmen awards went to Frank Schniederjon for Bandit, Parker McGee for Mr. Hustle, Jarrett Jones for Little Big Man and Jakob Conrad for Most Improved.

The EHS cheerleading awards went to Ashley Sills for Most Improved, Erin Friese for Outstanding Cheerleader, Sammantha Steele for Most Spirited and Alexis Stout for Leadership.

Letters went to Erin Friese, Alexis Stout, Shelby Moran, Emily Holland, Cierra Rush-Inman, Andrea Sills, Sammantha Steele, Alissa Kersey, Kimberly Clark, Morgan Pierson, Jadi Hetzel, Mackenzie Chastee, Ashley Sills, Brooklyn Manning, Kelly Walker and Jaci Lipe.

Junior varsity winners were, left to right, Alex Ramos, Gabe Herron, Blake White and Hudson Graham.
