EHS JV Football Team Ends Season With Loss

The Effingham junior varsity football team traveled to Mahomet-Seymour and fell 40-20 Monday evening.

Effingham trailed 7-0 after one quarter, however Mahomet-Seymour scored 20 more in the second period while Effingham could only get eight on the board. Mahomet added two more touchdowns in the third quarter to Effingham's one and led 40-14. Effingham scored another touchdown in the fourth but could not complete the comeback.

Effingham was led by Blake White on defense with 12 tackles and an interception in the end zone. He got help from Alex Ramos with 10 tackles and Caleb Martin and Carter Kistler with nine tackles each.

Effingham scoring came on two touchdown passes from Hudson Graham and a rushing touchdown from Lucas Vasquez. Graham's first touchdown was to Tucker Denton that covered 70 yards and the other was a 12 yard connection with Harrison Smith.  

Effingham finished it season with 1-5 record and Coach Lux and Coach Walker would like to thank the players and parents for their efforts this year.
