Patriots Destroy Bears
(Foxboro, MA) -- Tom Brady hooked up with Rob Gronkowski for three touchdowns as the Patriots rolled the Bears 51-23 at Gillette Stadium. Brady finished 30-of-35 for 354 yards and five touchdowns while Gronkowski hauled in nine passes for 149 yards. Brandon LaFell caught 11 balls for 124 yards and a score and Jonas Gray rushed for a team-best 86 yards. The Patriots improved to 6-and-2 with their fourth straight win. Chicago trailed 38-7 at halftime and lost its second straight contest to fall to 3-5. Jay Cutler turned the ball over twice but fired three touchdown passes in the loss. Matt Forte piled up 114 yards on the ground and added 54 receiving yards and a TD and Martellus Bennett had six grabs for 95 yards and a score
Bears defensive end Lamarr Houston is the latest player to injure himself while celebrating. Houston will have an MRI today after hurting his right knee while celebrating a sack during Sunday's loss to the Patriots. Lions linebacker Stephen Tulloch tore his ACL earlier this year celebrating.
The Bears are heading into the bye week for some much-needed time off. Chicago is now 3-5 after Sunday's loss and has dropped four of the last five. The Bears will return to action on November 9 in Green Bay against the NFC North-rival Packers. .
Chiefs Blow Away Rams With Running Game
(Kansas City, MO) -- Jamaal Charles ran for 73 yards and two touchdowns as the Chiefs dropped the Rams 34-7 at Arrowhead Stadium. Knile Davis added 49 yards and a score on the ground for Kansas City, which ran for 143 yards as a team. Alex Smith threw for 226 yards and lost a fumble for KC, which improved to 4-and-3 with the win. Austin Davis was held to 160 yards on 15-of-25 passing with a touchdown and an interception for St. Louis. Tre Mason ran for 32 yards on seven carries as the Rams fell to 2-5.
After a first-quarter touchdown, the Rams' offense sputtered to a halt against the Chiefs. Austin Davis finished 15-of-25 for 160 yards and a touchdown, but was sacked seven times and intercepted once. The Rams had just 13 first downs in the game compared to 23 for the Chiefs.
The Rams will review film of Sunday's game against the Chiefs today. They play the second of three straight road games this Sunday at San Francisco. It will be the Rams' first look at the new Levi's Stadium. The 49ers beat the Rams 31-17 in St. Louis on Monday night in Week Six.
Lions Roar Back To Edge Falcons In London
(London, England) -- The Lions stormed back from a 21-0 halftime deficit to edge the Falcons 22-21 at Wembley Stadium in London. Matt Prater booted a 48-yard field goal as time expired to give Detroit the victory. Prater had missed a 43-yard try seconds earlier, but was given another chance when his team was penalized five yards for delay of game. Matthew Stafford threw for 325 yards with two touchdowns and an interception as the Lions improved to 6-2. Golden Tate made seven grabs for 151 yards and a score. Matt Ryan was 20-of-27 for 228 yards with a pair of TD tosses and an interception. Steven Jackson rushed for 60 yards and a score as Atlanta fell to 2-6.
Texans Down Titans Behind Foster
(Nashville, TN) -- Arian Foster ran for 151 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Texans in a 30-16 win over the Titans from LP Field. Foster added four catches for 22 yards and a score as Houston improved to 4-4. Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for 227 yards and the TD while DeAndre Hopkins made five catches for 95 yards. Zach Mettenberger was 27-of-41 for 299 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in his first career start for Tennessee. Mettenberger also lost a fumble while Nate Washington made four catches for 68 yards. The Titans fell to 2-6 with the loss.
Vikings Top Buccaneers In Overtime
(Tampa, FL) -- Anthony Barr returned a fumble for a 27-yard touchdown to give the Vikings a 19-13 overtime win over the Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium. Teddy Bridgewater threw for 241 yards and a touchdown on 24 completions in the win and Jerick McKinnon piled on 83 yards rushing. Greg Jennings caught the lone touchdown pass and Cordarrelle [[ core-DARE-ull ]] Patterson added 86 receiving yards on six catches. Minnesota jumps to 3-5 and snapped a three-game slide. Mike Glennon went 19-for-28 with a touchdown and an interception in the loss. Austin Seferian-Jenkins caught a touchdown on three catches but lost the fumble in overtime. Mike Evans led all Tampa Bay receivers with 78 yards and Doug Martin was held to just 27 rushing yards. The Buccaneers fall to 1-6.
Wilson's Late Strike Lifts Seahawks Past Panthers
(Charlotte, NC) -- Russell Wilson hit Luke Willson on a 23-yard touchdown pass with 47 seconds to play, lifting the Seahawks in a 13-9 win over the Panthers from Bank of America Stadium. Wilson finished 20-of-32 for 199 yards with the TD and one interception. He added 35 yards on the ground while Marshawn Lynch ran for 62 yards in the win. Doug Baldwin made six catches for 61 yards as Seattle improved to 4-3. Cam Newton threw for 171 yards with an interception while adding 24 yards on the ground. Kelvin Benjamin made four catches for 94 yards as Carolina fell to 3-4-1.
Bengals Hold Off Ravens, Complete Season Sweep
(Cincinnati, OH) -- Andy Dalton ran it into the end zone from a yard out with 57 seconds to play in leading the Bengals to a 27-24 win over the Ravens from Paul Brown Stadium. It was Dalton's second rushing TD of the game and helped Cincinnati improve to 4-2-and-1 and complete the season sweep of Baltimore. Dalton threw for 266 yards and an interception while also losing a fumble and Giovani Bernard ran for 45 yards and a score. Mohamed Sanu made five catches for 125 yards in the win. Joe Flacco threw for 195 yards with two INTs in defeat for the Ravens. Lorenzo Taliaferro ran for a pair of touchdowns for Baltimore, which took a four-point lead with just under four minutes to play. The Ravens fell to 5-3 with the loss.
Dolphins Defense Holds Down Jaguars
(Jacksonville, FL) -- The Dolphins returned a pair of interceptions for touchdowns in a 27-13 win over the Jaguars from EverBank Field. Louis Delmas took a pick back 81 yards for a score while Brent Grimes returned one 22 yards as Miami improved 4-3. Ryan Tannehill threw for 196 yards with a touchdown and an interception while Lamar Miller ran for 78 yards in the win. Blake Bortles threw for 221 yards with a TD and the two interceptions for Jacksonville. Denard Robinson ran for 108 yards on 18 carries while Allen Robinson made five catches for 82 yards and a score. The Jags fell to 1-7 with the loss.
Bills Take Advantage Of Mistake Prone Jets
(East Rutherford, NJ) -- The Bills forced six turnovers including three in the first four drives to roll the Jets 43-23 at MetLife Stadium. Kyle Orton fired four touchdown passes on just 10 completions and Anthony Dixon rushed for 44 yards on 22 carries in the win. Sammy Watkins led the way with 157 yards and a score on three catches with Robert Woods and Scott Chandler hauling in a touchdown each. Dan Carpenter was a perfect 3-for-3 on field goals as Buffalo improved to 5-3. Geno Smith and Michael Vick combined to throw four interceptions and fumble twice with Smith being benched after just four series in the first quarter. Chris Ivory broke the pylon twice and finished with 43 yards as the Jets fell to 1-7 with seven straight losses.
Cardinals Edge Eagles
(Glendale, AZ) -- Carson Palmer found John Brown for a 75-yard touchdown strike with 1:21 left in the fourth quarter to lift the Cardinals to a 24-20 victory over the Eagles at University of Phoenix Stadium. Palmer tossed for 329 yards and a pair of TDs while Brown caught five balls for 119 yards and the game-winning score. Larry Fitzgerald added seven catches for 160 yards and a touchdown while Andre Ellington ran for 71 yards and a TD to help Arizona improve to 6-and-1 on the year. Nick Foles went 36-of-62 for 411 yards with two touchdowns and two picks. Jeremy Maclin tallied 12 catches for 187 yards and both TD's while LeSean McCoy chipped in 83 yards on the ground. Philadelphia fell to 5-and-2.
Browns Drop Raiders
(Cleveland, OH) -- Brian Hoyer completed 19-of-28 passes for 275 yards and a touchdown to help the Browns pick up a 23-13 win over the Raiders from FirstEnergy Stadium. Andrew Hawkins hauled in seven passes for 88 yards and the TD and Ben Tate scored from five yards out. Billy Cundiff converted on all three of his field goal attempts and the defense forced three turnovers as Cleveland moved to 4-3 with its third win in four weeks. Derek Carr threw for 328 yards and had a 10-yard touchdown strike to Andre Holmes. Darren McFadden ran for 59 yards while Mychal Rivera caught seven passes for 83 yards in the loss. Oakland fell to a league-worst 0-7 and dropped its 13th straight game dating back to last season.
Roethlisberger Leads Steelers Past Colts In Shootout
(Pittsburgh, PA) -- Ben Roethlisberger tossed for a franchise record 522 yards and six touchdowns to lead the Steelers to a 51-34 win over the Colts at Heinz Field. Antonio Brown caught 10 passes for 133 yards and two touchdowns while Martavis Bryant hauled in a pair of TDs. Heath Miller tallied 112 yards and found the end zone while Le'Veon Bell rushed for 92 yards and added 56 receiving yards for Pittsburgh, which improved to 5-3. Andrew Luck threw for 400 yards and three touchdowns with two interceptions, including a pick-six by William Gay. T.Y. Hilton and Donte Moncrief both went over 100 yards receiving with a score, and Ahmad Bradshaw had 87 total yards and a touchdown. Indianapolis had its five-game winning streak snapped to fall to 5-3.
Saints Pound Packers
(New Orleans, LA) -- Drew Brees was 27-of-32 for 311 yards and three touchdowns as the Saints pounded the Packers 44-23 on Sunday Night Football at the Superdome. Tied 16-all at the half, New Orleans put up 21 straight points and outscored Green Bay 28-7 overall in the second half. Mark Ingram ran for 172 yards and a score, while rookie Brandin Cooks had six catches for 94 yards and a TD and also ran for a four-yard touchdown for the Saints, who improved to 3-4. Jimmy Graham added five grabs for 59 yards and a TD in the victory. Aaron Rodgers finished 28-of-39 for 418 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions for the Packers, who had their four-game winning streak snapped and fell to 5-and-3 overall. Rodgers added a rushing touchdown, while Randall Cobb had five catches for 126 yards and a TD in defeat. Eddie Lacy racked up 182 total yards, 59 rushing and 123 receiving.
