(Denver, CO) -- First place in the AFC West is on the line this week on "Thursday Night Football" as the San Diego Chargers take on the Denver Broncos at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.  The Chargers had their five-game winning streak snapped with a 23-20 loss to the Chiefs on Sunday.

San Diego is now 5-2 on the season, a half-game behind 5-1 Denver. The Broncos blasted the 49ers 42-17 on Sunday night. Peyton Manning threw four touchdown passes in that game to reach 510 for his career and break the previous NFL record of 508 set by Brett Favre. The Broncos and Chargers split their two regular-season meetings last year, with each winning on the road. Denver then beat San Diego at home in the AFC Divisional Round of the playoffs.

Bears Moving On From Rant

(Lake Forest, IL) -- The Bears are moving on from a postgame locker room rant last Sunday. Head coach Marc Trestman said after practice on Wednesday that nothing lingers and they are moving forward. Receiver Brandon Marshall expressed his displeasure on Sunday after losing to his former team, the Dolphins.

A few players were not at practice for the Bears on Wednesday. Tight end Martellus Bennett was out with a hamstring injury while cornerback Kyle Fuller missed practice with a hand and hip issue. Safety Danny McCray is dealing with a knee problem.  The Bears battle the Patriots on Sunday.

Rams Continue Prep For Chiefs

(St. Louis, MO) -- The Rams are back at practice again today as they continue to prepare for Sunday's road game at Kansas City. The 2-4 Rams will try to win consecutive games for the first time this season after shocking the Seahawks 28-26 at home this past Sunday. The Chiefs are 3-3 on the year.

Rams quarterback Austin Davis has at least one big fan with Hall of Fame credentials. Retired QB Brett Favre tells ESPN.com that he's impressed by Davis' play and feels he could be the next Tom Brady or Kurt Warner. Favre says, like many others, Davis just needed an opportunity.

Linebacker Marshall McFadden is now on the Rams' active roster. He's been promoted from the practice squad to fill the roster spot of wide receiver Austin Pettis, who was released earlier this week. Pettis went unclaimed on Tuesday. McFadden played four games with Oakland last year.
