EHS Drops JV Football Loss to Mount Zion

Effingham High School traveled to Mount Zion and fell to the host team 40-28 in a hard fought junior varsity football contest Monday. With the loss the Hearts fall to 1-3 on the season and travel to Mahomet-Seymour next week for their final game of the season.
The Hearts fell behind 12-0 after one quarter but responded with two touchdowns of their own in the second quarter and only trailed 18-14. After both team scored a touchdown in the third quarter, Mount Zion added two to Effingham's one to close out the scoring.
The Hearts were led on defense by Alex Ramos and Carter Kistler with 16 and 12 tackles respectively. On offense the Hearts were led by Hudson Graham who was six of 17 passing with three touchdowns. Lane Koenig scored two and Tucker Denton one. Graham also rushed for a score.
