EHS Freshmen Fall To Salem

Salem came calling and edged Effingham 22-20 in overtime in freshman football action Thursday evening at Klosterman Field.

The Wildcats won on a two point conversion. Leading Effingham in rushing were Lucas Vasquez with 19 carries, 73 yards and one touchdown, Kyle Phillips with five carries on 19 yards and Parker Seachrist, three carries for 12 yards.

Vasquez connected on five of 15 passes for two touchdowns, 124 yards and one interception. Kody Line had 93 yards receiving and one touchdown. Jacob Miller had 31 yards receiving and one touchdown.

On defense, Line had one interception and seven tackles. Jarrett Jones had seven tackles, one assist and a fumble recovery. Frank Schniederjon had six solo tackles and six assists. Phillips had six solo tackles.
