(Detroit, MI) -- Calvin Johnson caught seven passes for 164 yards and two first quarter touchdowns as the Lions roared past the Giants 35-14 at Ford Field in Detroit. Quarterback Matthew Stafford was 22-of-32 for 364 yards and the two TD tosses while also running for a score. Detroit piled up 417 yards of offense while the defense held New York to just 197 yards. Joique Bell ran for 51 yards and a TD in the season-opening win. Eli Manning threw for 163 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. Rashad Jennings carried it 16 times for 46 yards and a score while piling up 50 yards receiving. Larry Donnell had five grabs for 56 yards and a touchdown in defeat.


Cardinals Edge Chargers With Late Touchdown

(Glendale, AZ) -- Rookie John Brown took a screen pass 13 yards for a his first career touchdown with just over two minutes left to lift the Cardinals to an 18-17 win over the Chargers at University of Phoenix Stadium. Carson Palmer finished 24-of-37 for 304 yards and two scores and a lost fumble for Arizona, which trailed by 11 entering the fourth quarter. Michael Floyd had five catches for 119 yards while Andre Ellington ran for 53 yards on 13 carries with a fumble in the win. Ryan Mathews had 12 carries for 40 yards and a touchdown while Philip Rivers was 21-of-36 for 238 yards with a touchdown and interception for San Diego. Antonio Gates made six grabs for 81 yards while Malcolm Floyd had four catches for 50 yards and a TD.


Bears Dealing With Injuries

(Lake Forest, IL) -- The Bears are dealing with a group of injuries following Sunday's season-opening loss. Center Roberto Garza is dealing with a high ankle sprain while left guard Matt Slauson has an ankle injury that forced him to have an MRI. Wide receiver Alshon Jeffery has a strained hamstring.

The Bears are bringing in rookie safety Ahmad Dixon. The team signed Dixon off the Vikings' practice squad Monday and parted ways with cornerback Demontre Hurst. The Cowboys selected Dixon in the seventh round of the 2014 draft out of Baylor.

Bears head coach Marc Trestman is changing things up with his team's travel. Instead of departing Saturday for Sunday night's road game against the 49ers, the Bears will leave after Friday's practice. Trestman says the move is to get acclimated to the two-hour time change.


Rams Look To Bounce Back Against Bucs

(St. Louis, MO) -- The Rams get back to work this week as they try to bounce back from an embarrassing 34-6 home loss to the Vikings. Quarterbacks Shaun Hill and Austin Davis were sacked a combined five times, with Hill suffering a quad injury. The Rams play at Tampa Bay this Sunday.

Rams defensive end Chris Long has an injured ankle. He went down on a sweep by Vikings running back Adrian Peterson in the third quarter and did not return.  Long wore a brace on his left ankle afterwards. He hasn't missed an NFL game since being drafted in 2008.
