EHS Competes in Peoria's First To The Finish

The Effingham High School boys cross country team prepares to run in the First To The Finish Invitational Saturday.

PEORIA -- Effingham competed in the First To The Finish Cross Country Invitational Saturday at Peoria's Detwiler Park.

In the boy's division there were 733 runners. First place went to Jake Hoffert of Yorkville with a time of 14:31.44. Finishing for Effingham were: 242. Jacob Donaldson, 17:51.7; 249. Josh McCammon, 17:57.2; 287. Gary Damron, 18:19.2; 293. Patrick Siner, 18:30.2; 314. Leighton Lark, 19:01.4; 326. Kennan Mahaffey, 19:20.9; 328. Collin Hecht, 19:32.6; Adam Koester, 21:07.2; Garland Gibson, 22:49.3 and Holden Arthur, 26:48.7.

In the girl's division, there were 628 runners. First place went to Maura Beattie of Woodstock with a time of 16:52.5. Finishing for Effingham were: 89. Jenna Bingham, 19:50.0; 125. Shayna Phillips, 20:20.4; 223. Haley Fatheree, 21:45.6; 296. Jami Swan, 23:18.4; 298. Madi Woelfer, 23:20.6; 323. Jaclyn Steppe, 24:37.7; 328. Kelly Keitel, 25:06.1; McKenzie Crowell, 25:25.4 and Jade Spencer, 26:09.6.

EHS will be back in action Thursday against Teutopolis and Dieterich at the Ballard Nature Center.
