Area Runners Set For Cross Country State Meets

Area cross country runners are set to head to the Class 1A and Class 2A State Meets Saturday at Detweiller Park in Peoria.

In the Class 1A State Meet, Effingham St. Anthony is sending a team that includes Isabella Keller, Aubrey Denning, Emeline Wines, Nancy Ruholl, Leah Delrossi, Camille Wines and Ava Faber.

Newton will be represented by Layna Marshall.

For the boys, Cumberland is sending a team that includes Cameron Roedl, Riley Morgan, Kaleb Bierman, Gavin Whitaker, Brett Matusas, Gavin Ray and Kade Bradley.

Effingham St. Anthony will be represented by Julius Ramos while Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City's August Cosart will be competing.

The girls will run at 9 a.m. while the boys will hit the starting line at 10 a.m.
