CHBC, St. Anthony Champions In NTC Boys, Girls C.C. Meets

St. Anthony won the NTC Meet. Members of the team include, left to right, Emeline Wines, Leah Delrossi, Camille Wines, Ava Faber, Nancy Ruholl and Aubrey Denning.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City won the boys National Trail Conference Cross Country Meet while Effingham St. Anthony claimed the girls title.

CHBC won with 30 points followed by St. Anthony 37, Dieterich 81 and North Clay 87. Altamont had runners but not enough for a team score

The Bobcats' August Cosart took first in 16:13 while Griffin Vaughn was second in 16:25. Aiden Wallace took sixth in 17:16, Deacon Sutter ninth in 18:00 and rounding out the scoring, Hayden Sarver 12th in 18:20.

Dieterich's top finisher was Trevor Crutcher third in 16:32. St. Anthony's top finisher was Julius Ramos fourth in 16:42.

Finishing first for North Clay was Zane Groves eighth in 17:40.

In the girls meet, only two teams scored as St. Anthony won with 17 points followed by Dieterich 41. CHBC, Neoga, Altamont and North Clay had runners compete but not enough for team scores.

The Bulldogs' Aubrey Denning won in 18:02. Emeline Wines was third in 20:39, Nancy Ruholl fourth in 21:25, Leah Delrossi ninth in 22:58 and Camille Wines 12th in 23:49.

North Clay's Brooke Koelm was second in 19:52. CHBC's Zoe Sarver finished sixth in 21:40. Dieterich's Lena Goebel was seventh in 22;08. Neoga's Atalie Osborn took eighth in 22:57 and Altamont's top finisher was Abigail Weishaar ninth in 23;28.
