St. Anthony Wins Cumberland Girls C.C. Invite, Boys Third; C'land Second In Boys Meet

The St. Anthony girls won the Cumberland Invitational while the boys placed third. TOLEDO -- Effingham St. Anthony captured the girls championship of the Cumberland Cross Country Invitational Saturday.
The Bulldogs scored 43 points followed by Marshall 57, Mattoon 84, Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond 95, Argenta-Oreana 99 and Fithian Oakwood 100, Altamont, Neoga, North Clay (Louisville), Cerro Gordo-Bement, Paris, Broadlands Heritage, Casey-Westfield, Westville, Chrisman and Villa Grove had runners but not enough for team scores.
St. Anthony's Isabella Keller won the invitational with a time of 16:31.89 while teammate Aubrey Denning took second in 18:06.47. Also scoring for the Bulldogs were Emaline Wines 11th in 21:03.90, Nancy Ruholl 18th in 22:10.69 and Leah Delrosi 22nd in 22:58.96.
North Clay's Brooke Koelm was sixth in 20:16.70.
In the boys meet, Tolono Unity won the team championship with 71 points followed by Cumberland 80, St. Anthony 89, Broadlands Heritage 1123, Paris 155, Mattoon 158, Marshall 198, Cerro Gordo/Bement 201, Fithian Oakwood 218, Villa Grove 255, North Clay 275, Casey-Westfield 291 and Chrisman 351. Altamont, Westville, Argenta-Oreana and Oakland had runners competing but not enough for a team score.
Cerro Gordo/Bement's Will Fuson won with a time of 15:37.36.
Cumberland's Cameron Roedl finished sixth in 16:24.43 and Effingham St. Anthony's Julius Ramos was seventh in 16:25.01.
Also scoring for the Bulldogs were Camden Bloemer 14th in 17:29.07, Oliver Kreke 16th in 17:41.46, Noah Flaig 22nd in 18:01.77 and Michael Fearday 30th in 18:19.27.
Other's scoring for the second place Pirates were Gavin Whitaker 13th in 17:29.02, Kaleb Bierman 17th in 17:44.98, Riley Morgan 20th in 17:54.49 and Gavin Ray 24th in 18:05.17.
