ROBINSON -- Effingam Junior High School claimed the boys championship of the Robinson Nuttall Cross Country Invitational Wednesday.

The Mustangs won with 37 points followed by Effingham St. Anthony 140, Olney St. Joseph 146, Richland County, Olney 154, Paris Mayo 180, Altamont Lutheran Interparish 185, Robinson Nuttall 197, Mattoon 199, Casey-Westfield 223, Jasper County 225, Dieterich 272, Mattoon St. John's Lutheran 297, Mount Carmel 305, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 309, Cumberland 398, Marshall 405, Oakland Lake Crest 495 and Oblong 531.

Paris Mayo's Charlie Sabens won the meet in 11:15.0. Effingham's Jared Klingler was second in 11:12 and Mason Oberbeck took fourth in 11:37.9. Tristen Smith was eighth in 11:59.2, Kaden Rohr ninth in 12:06.4 and Joel Flack 13th in 12:14.3 for the Mustangs scoring.

St. Anthony's Max Schuette was the top finisher for the Bulldogs placing sixth in 11:51.9.

In the girls meet, Jasper County was the team champion with 65 points followed by Lawrenceville Parkview 70, Effingham St. Anthony 81, Robinson Nuttall 144, Marshall 156, Richland County, Olney 170, Oakland Lake Crest 173, Effingham 180, Paris Mayo 273, Olney St. Joseph 298, Cumberland 299, Casey-Westfield 339, Mount Carmel 343, Mattoon 343 and Mattoon St. John's Lutheran 349.

Marshall's Grace Thompson won with a time of 12:36.0.

Jasper County's top finisher was Brooke Gentry seventh in 13:18.6. Also scoring were Heather Bergbower 10th in 13:27.9, Alayna Harston 14th in 13:41.0, Chloe Holsapple 16th in 13:51.0 and Josie Vogt 18th in 13;53.7.

St. Anthony's Nora Niebrugge took fourth in 12:59.8 while Bella Schultz was fifth in 13:05.7.

Effingham's top finisher was Laynee Pankau 19th in 13:56.8.
