Effingham Boys, St. Anthony Girls win JH South Central Cross Country Conference Meet

Effingham Junior High School wons the boys portion of the South Central Conference meet.
The South Cental Conference Boys and Girls Cross Country meet was raced on the course at Eastern Illinois University.
In the boys competion, Effingham finished 1st with a team total of 31 points, followed by Charleston with 63, St. Anthony 91, Mattoon 98, Teutopolis 121, and Taylorville with 127.
Four runners for the Mustangs finished in the top ten. Jared Klingler was 2nd, Mason Overbeck 3rd, Tristan Smith 6th, and Kaden Rohr 9th.
St. Anthony's Max Schuette was 4th overall.
The girls race was won by St. Anthony with a total of 40, Charleston was 2nd with 71, Taylorville 3rd with 76, followed by Teutopolis 85, Effingham 95, and Mattoon 134.
Nora Niebrugge was 2nd, Bella Schultz was 3rd, and Maeve Niebrugge finished 8th for St. Anthony. Effingham's Laynee Pankau finished in the top ten for Effingham.
