Junior High Cross Country -- Sept. 21 Results

Effingham Junior High School competed in the Tom Appenzeller Cross Country Invitational at Mahomet Lake of the Woods Saturday.
The varsity boys finished fourth out of 14 teams. They were led by seventh-grader Jared Klingler who placed second out of 98 runners with a time of 11:23.9, Tristen Smith 10th with a time of 12:03.4, Kaden Rohr 25th with a time of 12:29.4, Mason Overbeck 33rd with a time of 12:42.6, Joel Flack 37th with a time of 12:49.1, William Percival 44th with a time of 12:58.8 and Maddux Wyckoff 58th with a time of 13:17.9.
The varsity girls finished ninth overall and were led by eighth-grader Laynee Pankau 43rd with a time of 14:25.9, Kloey Bierman 47th with a time of 14:33.9, Kynlie Rohr 50th with a time of 14:44.5, Addisyn Schackmann 64th with a time of 15:02.1, Taylor Davis 74th with a time of 15:25.4, Aleece Lotz 65th with a time of 15:36.0 and Baylee Bierman 66th with a time of 15:43.1.
The junior varsity boys tied for third place but on a tie-breaker, they took the fourth place spot out of 11 teams. Junior varsity boys competing were Tristen Devall ninth in 13:21.7, Emiel Vargas 11th in 13:28.6, Xzaviour Layne 12th in 13:29.3, Brody Brown 26th in 13:57.4, Avery Arnold 46th in 14:42.5, Anthony Bohnhoff 62nd in 15:43.1 and Nicolas Young 63rd in 15:44.9.
For the girls junior varsity, Sophia Wiedman 34th in 16:51.1, Julie Larsen 51st in 17:40.8 and Katie Percival 53rd in 17:50.4. There wree a total of 72 runners competing.
