St. Anthony Wins Own Bullpup Pride Meet

St. Anthony captured the boys' championship of the St. Anthony Bullpup Pride Invitational Tuesday.

St. Anthony finished first with 75 points. 

Max Schuette was not only the first place finisher for the Bullpups, he was the overall first place finisher for the meet in 11:58.15. The rest of the Bullpups squad and where they finished: Braxton Schultz 10th, Will Ludwig 13th, Grayson Bloemer 23rd, James Uebinger 28th, Colin Storm 36th, and Marty Scheidemantel 45th. 

Altamont Lutheran finished second with 78 points. John Manley finished seventh, Preston Kroening ninth, Kelton Dunaway 12th, Easton Caraway 20th, Griffin Kroening 30th, Atticus Osteen 34th, and Gentry Sefton 43rd.

Sigel St. Michael finished third with 83 points. Clayton Altgilbers finished third, Elijah Whittier fourth, Ben Walk 14th, Jackson Krampe 21st, Elijah Lee 41st, Griffin Strohl 46th, and Harvey McWhorter 52nd. 

Jasper County finished fifth with 106 points. Hayden Frichtl finished second, Derek Anderson 17th, Landon Gentry 25th, Kendall Probst 29th, Rafe Thomann 33rd, Xavier Neal 37th, and Preston Harris 38th.

Dieterich finished sixth with 124 points. Rylan McQueen finished 15th, Riley Shellenbarger 16th, Wade Brummer 26th, Kyle Goeckner 27th, Cole Tegeler 40th, Luke Wohltman 42nd, and Gabe Crutcher 54th.

Teutopolis finished seventh with 147 points. Joseph Habing finished 11th, Archer Kitten 22nd, Chase Kinkelaar 32nd, Exavier Smothers 35th, Leo Zerrusen 47th, Drew Kinkelaar 48th, and Kyle Bierman 50th.

Cowden-Herrick finished eighth with 157 points. Eli Maxedon finished fifth, Kaisyn Calame finished sixth, Tayte Voudrie 44th, Easton Kramer 49th, Hunter Voudrie 53rd, Deacon Rodman 55th, and Ethan Maxedon 56th.

St. Anthony also finished first in the girls meet with 34 points. Nora Niebrugge of St. Anthony was the overall winner in 13:21.19. Also for St. Anthony: Bella Schultz second, Hannah Frisbie ninth, Maeve Niebrugge 10th, Amelia Janis 12th, Brynn Weber 21st, and Rosie Warner 25th.

Jasper County finished second with 35 points. Heather Bergbower finished fourth, Brooke Gentry fifth, Josie Vogt seventh, Alayna Harston eighth, Chloe Holsappe 11th, Kimberly Bierman 13th, and Nora Street 15th.

Sigel St. Michael finished third with 84 points. Violet Walk finished third, Tinley Niebrugge 14th, Brianna Niebrugge 19th, Reece Niebrugge 22nd, Ruby Walk 26th, Molli Dasenbrock 28th, and Kinsley Haarmann 37th. 

Teutopolis finished fourth with 87 points. Bella Niebrugge finished sixth, Lily Tegeler 16th, Kenzi Dust 18th, Penny Dennis 20th, Sarah Habing 27th, and Brooklyn Kinkelaar 39th. 

Dieterich finished fifth with 135 points. Violet Iffert finished 17th, Jenna Bohnhoff 23rd, Allie Wright 24th, Halo Homann 30th, and Faith Hewkin 41st. 

Trinity Lutheran of Stewardson finished seventh with 178 points. Brielle Friese finished 29th, Ali Manhart 33rd, Cora Reed 35th, Abree Zalman 38th, Alexandra Hampton 43rd and Adalynn Jones 44th.

Effingham Junior High traveled to Taylorville Monday to compete against a tough field of runners.

The Effingham boys finished first. Leading the boys was seventh grader Jared Klingler, who placed second of 115 runners. Other EJHS runners were Rohr in sixth, Smith in ninth, Overbeck in 10th, Flack in 14th, Percival in 16th, and Layne in 26th.

The Effingham girls finished fourth. The leading runner for Effingham was Pankau who finished 13th out of 112 runners in a personal best of 14:00. She was followed by Bierman in 21st, Rohr in 24th, Schackmann in 27th, Davis in 35th, Bierman in 41st, and Lotz in 42nd.
