Chrisman, Charleston Meets Held Saturday

Charleston was the scene for cross country action Saturday, as the Little Trojan and Big Trojan Invitational took place.
In the high school boys event, Mahomet-Seymour won with 75 points. The rest of the finishers: 2nd--Olney Richland County 99, 3rd--Mt. Zion 118, 4th--Charleston 134, 5th--Cumberland 158 (Cumberland's Cameron Roedl finished 16th), 6th--Champaign Central 163, 7th--Urbana 196, 8th--Shelbyville 248, 9th--Fairfield 249, 10th--Tuscola 289, 11th--Newton 307 (Newton's Jackson Sornberger finished 33rd), 12th--Cerro Gordo/Bement 345, 13th--Effingham 347 (Effingham's Alex Gordon finished 11th), 14th--Dieterich 352 (Dieterich's Trevor Crutcher finished 13th), 15th--Mattoon 367, 16th--Danville 398, 17th--Sullivan 418, 18th--Champaign Centennial 458, 19th--Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Allen 545

The Chrismas Cow Chip Classic was held Saturday. St. Anthony had five girls compete. Isabella Keller ran a 16:42.7 to win the meet, breaking her sister Anna Sophia Keller's 17:03 run in 2015. Aubrey Denning finished with a 18:15.9.
Teutopolis finished sixth in the meet. Mary Jane Dennis finished 30th in 24.33:4
In the boys meet, St. Anthony finished fourth. Julius Ramos finished sixth overall in 16:48.6. Camden Bloemer finished 16th in 17:50.8. Noah Flaig finished 18th in 18:02.8.
Teutopolis finished 7th. Oliver Lee finished 33rd in 19:31.
In girls junior high results at Chrisman, Morgan Kabbes and Maeve Niebrugge finished 4th and 5th for St. Anthony. In 7th grade, Bella Schultz finished 7th. In 8th grade, Nora Niebrugge finished second and Hanna Frisbie finished ninth.
In boys junior high action, Will Ludwig was St. Anthony's top 6th grade in 11th place, in 7th grade Max Schuette finished third, and in 8th grade Blake Verdeyen finished 13th. In the Co-Ed Open race, Marty Scheidemantel finished 4th.
