EHS Girls Win Doc Acklin C.C. Invitational

PARIS -- Effingham High School claimed the team championship of the Doc Acklin Cross Country Invitational Thursday.

 

The Hearts won with 30 points followed by St. Joseph-Ogden 71, Robinson 89, Bismarck-Henning 121, Newton 129, Charleston 141, Tuscola 180, Dieterich 192,  Hoopston 195, Teutopolis 263, Marshall 0, Oblong 0, Cumberland 0, Heritage 0, Paris 0, Casey-Westfield 0, Danville 0, Chrisman 0.

Scoring for the Hearts were Emery Spicer who finished fourth in 20:23.46 followed in fifth by teammate Baylee Summers in 20:27.78 and in seventh by Jessica Larsen in 20:32.80. Also scoring for the Hearts were Morgan Springer 13th in 22:12.66 and Drew Weis 15th in 22:22.59.

In the boys meet, no team scores were listed. Effingham's Alex Gordon finished seventh in 17;31.68.

Cumberland's Cameron Roedl was third in 17:09.55 while Dieterich's Trevor Crutcher took fifth in 17;23.98.
