Keller Finishes Eighth at Nike Cross Country Nationals

PORTLAND, OREGON -- Isabella Keller captured eighth place at the Nike Cross Country Nationals in Portland.

The Effingham St. Anthony High School freshman finished with a time of 17:43.4 going up against tough competition with older runners.

The Nike Cross Nationals is comprised of eight Regional Qualifying meets and the National Finals. The Nationals course at Glendoveer Golf Course offers athletes a premium, challenging championship venue for putting it all on the line.

Fields of 22 seven-person clubs and an additional 50 individuals (male and female) went after the coveted Winged Goddess of Victory statue.

Winning the girls meet was Addy Ritzenhein with a time of 17:10.4. Other top six finishing times were 17:16.4, 17:37.4, 17:37.4, 17:38.6, 17:38.9 and 17:39.9 before Keller's finish.

The freshman was part of the Midwest Team.
