(EFFINGHAM JUNIOR HIGH CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS AFTER BOYS WIN CONFERENCE MEET AND GIRLS SQUAD FINISHES SECOND)

St. Anthony won the girls meet and Effingham won the boys meet at the South Central Middle School Cross Country Conference Meet Thursday.

The girls result: St. Anthony 47, Effingham 58, Charleston 79, Taylorville 82, Teutopolis 111, Mattoon 121

The boys result: Effingham 48, St. Anthony 56, Charleston 77, Teutopolis 78, Taylorville 99, Mattoon 144

For the St. Anthony girls: Nora Niebrugge 3rd in 13:02; Bella Schultz 5th in 13:24; Emeline Wines 8th in 14:03; Hannah Frisbie 15th in 14:48; Amelia Janis 16th in 15:02; Taylor Denning 38th in 16:53

For the Effingham boys: T.J. Raddatz 3rd in 12:11.40; Jared Klingler 8th; Carson Fox 9th; Mason Overbeck 11th; Alex McFarland 17th.

For the St. Anthony boys: Camden Bloemer 1st in 11:40; Charlie Bierman 4th in 12:15; Max Schuette 14th in 12:44; Mike Fearday 15th in 12:44; Grayson Bloemer 22nd in 13:22; Braxton Schultz 23rd in 13:29; James Uebinger 26th in 13:34; Reed Schumacher 36th in 14:15; Marty Scheidemantel 46th in 14:33; Graham Miller 50th in 14:40; Ben Sudkamp 59th in 15:11; Jackson Settle 66th in 15:37; Jacob Thoele 82nd in 16:21

For the Effingham girls: Emery Spicer 1st; Alaina Miller 6th in 13:45.15 (PR); Laynee Pankau 14th (PR); Bailee Kruger 17th; Aleece Lotz 20th (PR).

A three-team boys cross country meet took place at Dieterich Village Park on Thursday.

The results: Dieterich 22, Sigel St. Michael 36, Altamont Lutheran 73

Ben Schottman, Sylus Niland and Alex Schottman took the top three spots for Dieterich at 12:42, 13:12, and 13:15, respectively.

Sigel St. Michael took the four through six spots; Mason Platz at 13:35, Clayton Altgilbers and Lucca Dittamore at 13:35, 13:39 and 13:46, respectively.

The rest of the top 10: Weston Goebel of Dieterich, Kelton Dunaway of ALIS, Wade Bummer of Dieterich and Noah Platz of St. Michael.

For the girls: Lydia Kreke, Lydia Fuesting and Avery Bohnhoff of Dieterich finished 1-2-3 at 15:22, 15:23 and 15:59, respectively.

Reece Niebrugge of St. Michael finished fourth at 16:08, and Dieterich took 5th through 9th; Violet Iffert, Allie Wright, Kelsie Hoelscher, Emma Williams, Ava Niemerg, respectively, with Kinsley Haarnann of St. Michael 10th.
