Cumberland Wins Boys Meet at Shelbyville

The Cumberland High School boys cross country team won the Shelbyville High School Trail Invitational held at the Dacey Trail in Forest Park in Shelbyville on Saturday.
It was a battle, as Cumberland edged Newton 65 to 66 for the boys' title. St. Anthony was third with 107 points, then Shelbyville 115, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 128, Dieterich 170, Litchfield 200, Villa Grove 208, Sullivan 215, Marshall 218 and Mattoon 251.
Jonathan Iacobazzi of Sullivan won the meet in 16:17.11. Cameron Roedl of Cumberland was second in 16:20.35, Luke Weber of Newton was third in 16:22.88, and Julius Ramos of St. Anthony was fourth in 16:36.32.

Meanwhile, Shelbyville won the girls meet, taking the top four positions.Tessa Bowers won in 17:56.81
Newton finished fourth, Neoga finished fifth, and Dieterich finished tied for sixth.
Layna Marshall of Newton finished fifth in 20:04.83 and Stacie Vonderheide of St. Anthony finished sixth in 20:14.34.
