EHS Girls Have Perfect Score At C.C. Meet

ALTAMONT -- Effingham High School finished with a perfect score to win the Altamont Girls Cross Country Invitational Thursday.

The Hearts swept the top eight places in the meet. Winning was Jessica Larsen with a time of 19:04.23 followed by teammates Audrey Wagoner in 20:12.43, Baylee Summers in 20:12.65, Morgan Springer in 21:38.99, Haddie Hill in 21:39.23, Drew Weis in 21:39.38, Kyra Heckerton in 22:25.89 and Laney Myers in 22:26.12.

Altamont's Krista Hall finished ninth in 23:05.91.

EHS won the meet with 15 points followed by Charleston 53 and Teutopolis 75. Altamont did not have enough runners for a team score.

In the boys meet, Charleston edged Effingham for the team championship. The Trojans had 38 while Effingham had 39 and Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 44.

Effingham's Alex Gordon was the winner with a time of 16:19.2. Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City's August Cosart took second in 16;29.95.

Also scoring for Efffingham were Adam Flack fourth in 17:36.77, Aaron Hill seventh in 17:57.21, Ino Mapes 14th in 19:03.48 and Evan Klingler 15th in 19:12.04.

Scoring for CHBC along with Cosart were Griffin Vaughn sixth in 17:47.74, Aiden Wallace ninth in 18:14.92, Porter Lilly 13th in 18:57.89 and Drake Richards 17th in 19:41.79.

T-town's top runner was Oliver Lee 12th in 18;45.49.
