St. A Boys Win Five-Team C.C. Meet; Vonderheide First In Girls Meet

PARIS -- Effingham St. Anthony came out the winner in a boys cross country meet at Paris Tuesday.

The Bulldogs tallied 39 followed by Robinson 39, Paris 42, Teutopolis 109 and Mattoon 124.

Julius Ramos finished in fifth place for the Bulldogs with a time of 19:01.45 followed by Daniel Ramos sixth in 19:17.32, Aidan Braunecker seventh in 19:24.26, Elliot Frisbee 10th in 19:54.34 and Oliver Kreke 13th in 20:21.04.

Also competing for the Bulldogs were Noah Flaig 16th in 21:09.50, Calvin Sudkamp 20th in 21:52.08 and James Emmerich 29th in 22:31.51.

Competing for Teutopolis were James Hughey 20th in 21:12.35, Oliver Lee 21st in 21:23.89, Nicholas Waldhoff 26th in 22:25.12, Luke Dennis 27th in 22:25.52 and Will Deters 32nd in 23:41.90.

In the girls meet, Robinson was the team champion with 17 followed by Mattoon 54, Paris 71 and Teutopolis 88. St. Anthony and Lawrenceville did not have enough runners for a team score.

St. Anthony's Stacie Vonderheide captured first place in the meet with a time of 21:18.20. Emma Helmink was fourth in 23:08.16, Ava Faber 20th in 26:43.01 and Grace Niebrugge 24th in 27:39.28.

Teutopolis competitors were Adrienne Koester 13th in 25:20.63, Pearl Huber 21st in 20:43.83, Mary Jane Dennis 23rd in 26:56.99, Elaine Gaffin 26th in 28:13.27, Ella Niehls 30th in 29:13.82, Maddie Zane 32nd in 31:35.23 and Claire Overbeck 33rd in 33:26.72.
