EHS Boys Second, Girls Third At St. Anthony C.C. Invite

In the boys meet, Georgetown Notre Dame de La Salette won the meet with 62 points followed by Effingham 70, Effingham St. Anthony 92, Mount Zion 124, Cumberland 137, Breese Mater Dei 142, Charleston 220, Dieterich 256 and Champaign St. Thomas More 269.

Competing but not having enough members for a team were Altamont, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, North Clay (Louisville), Teutopolis, Chrisman, Lawrenceville, Mattoon and Odin.

St. Anthony's Griffen Elder won the meet with a time of 16:06.86.

Effingham's scoring came from Garrett Wagoner who took third in 16:29.83 and Andrew Donaldson was fourth in 16:37.72. Alex Gordon finished eighth in 17:23.32, Adam Flack 26th in 18:10.07 and Aaron Hill 38th in 18:32.14.

In the girls meet, Mount Zion's Sofia Munoz won in 18:49.41 and her team captured first place with 43 points.

Following the winner were Stanford Olympia 52, Effingham 83, Breese Mater Dei 101, Champaign St. Thomas More 133, Charleston 138, St. Anthony 151 and Mattoon 220. Teams competing but not enough for a team score were Altamont, Dieterich, Teutopolis, North Clay, Bethany Okaw Valley, Champaign Judah Christian, Chrisman and Odin.

Effingham's Jessica Larsen finished sixth in 19:20.43. Also scoring for the Hearts were Baylee Summers 13th in 20:20.91; Morgan Springer, 22nd in 20:57.85; Audrey Wagoner, 25th in 21:09.36 and Haddie Hill, 29th in 21:16.19.

St. Anthony's Stacie Vonderheide took 12th in 29:19.24.
