EHS Takes Second in Girls, Third In Boys Centralia C.C. Invite

CENTRALIA -- Effingham High School finished second in the girls race and third in the boys race at the Centralia Cross Country Invitational Saturday.

Breese Mater Dei won the girls meet with 33 points followed by Effingham 42, Centralia 78, Mascoutah 108, Salem 118, Marion 178, Mount Vernon 180 and East St. Louis Senior 182.

Winning the meet was Mater Dei's Isabella Hacker with a time of 19:01.8. Second went to Effingham's Jessica Larsen with a time of 19:02.7. Haddie Hill was sixth in 20:32.5, Baylee Summers 12th in 21:02.5, Morgan Springer 13th in 21:04.6 and Audrey Wagoner 15th in 21:06.3. Also competing was Allison MIller 40th in 23:22.0.

In the boys race, Mount Vernon won with 28 points followed by Carbondale 68, Effingham 88, Breese Mater Dei 128, Mascoutah 133, East St. Louis Senior 140, Centralia 157 and Marion 169.

Mount Vernon's Trey Mygatt won the meet with a time of 16:02.0.

Effingham's Garrett Wagoner took third in 16:13.1 followed by Andrew Donaldson eighth in 16:41.0, Alex Gordon 12th in 16:53.7, Aaron HIll 28th in 18:07.2 and Payton Bushue 38th in 18:47.3. Other runners were Adam Flack 45th in 19:29.8 and Evan Klingler 50th in 20:17.0.
