St. A Boys Take Third At Cow Chip C.C. Invit

CHRISMAN -- Effingham St. Anthony improved from eighth place last year to third place this year at the Chrisman Cowchip Cross Country Classic.

There are seven flights of the three mile race through the cow pasture behind Chrisman High School. The race's No. 1's run against each other to No. 7's.

In Flight One, Griffen Elder finished fourth. Julius Ramos was fourth in Flight Two. Conlan Walsh took third in Flight Three. Vincent Vogel was seventh in Flight Four. Giovanni Bucio was third in Flight Five. Noah Flaig took fourth in Flight Six. James Emmerich was eighth in Flight Seven.

In the Open Race, Aidan Braunecker finished third while Oliver Kreke was fourth. Max Sager took 17th, Calvin Sudkamp was 20th, Nick Wiedman was 41st and Sam Deters was 42nd.

The St. Anthony girls didn't score as a team since four girls finished the race. Emma Helmink was 33rd in 22:41.6, Ava Faber 46th in 23:40.6, Taylor Miller 53rd in 24:09.3 and Grace Niebrugge 73rd in 26:06.7.
