Junior High Cross Country Runners Headed To State

Seven junior high schools will be sending runners to the State Cross Country Meets Saturday at Maxwell Park in Normal.

Effingham, Effingham St. Anthony, Effingham Sacred Heart, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, Sigel St. Michael, Cumberland and Jasper County will be represented.

In the Class 1A Meet, the girls race will be held at 12:30 p.m. with the boys race at 1:15. Competing in the girls race will be Isabella Keller of Effingham Sacred Heart, Maggie Brent, Ava Busher, Jada Carpenter, Gianna Frisbie, Reese Hoene, Addison Jones and Veronica Sudkamp of Effingham St. Anthony and Natalie Ballinger, Nora Bueker, Sophia Cremens, Nancy Ruholl and Brooklyn Will of Sigel St. Michael.

In the Class 1A boys meet are August Cosart, Porter Lilly, Slade Rauch, Hayden Sarver, Deacon Sutter and Charlie Willenborg of Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, Daniel Ramos and Julius Ramos of Effingham Sacred Heart and Camden Bloemer and Mike Fearday of Effingham St. Anthony.

In the Class 2A Meet scheduled for 10:15 a.m., only boys will be competing and those include Cameron Roedl of Cumberland and Hayden Borgic of Jasper County.

In Class 3A, the girls race begins at 11 a.m. with three runners from Effingham, Emery Spicer, Baylee Summers and Drew Weis. In the boys race at 11:45 a.m., Alex Gordon will represent Effingham.
