Area Teams Compete at St. Joseph-Ogden C.C. Invite

ST. JOSEPH -- Several area teams competed in the boys and girls St. Joseph-Ogden Invitationals Saturday.

St. Joseph-Ogden claimed its own boys invitational with 65 points followed by Decatur St. Teresa 104, Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond 116, Monticello 180, Tuscola 199, Urbana University 224, Bismarck-Henning/Ross 232, Shelbyville 234, Paxton-Buckley-Loda 236, Tolono Unity 250, El Paso-Gridley 251, Georgetown Notre Dame 258, Deer Creek-Mackinaw 325, Carlinville 341, Downs Tri-Valley 392, Heyworth 394, Liberty 414, Maroa-Forsyth 421, Effingham St. Anthony 444, Chrisman 537, Sullivan 547, Teutopolis 590 and Champaign St. Thomas More 636. Neoga and Cumberland had runners competing but not enough for team scores.

Winning the meet was Paxton/Buckley/Loda's Ryder James in 14:21.13.

St. Anthony's Griffen Elder finished 19th in 16:12.81.

In the girls meet, Tolono Unity was the team champion with 56 points followed by Monticello 66, St. Joseph-Ogden 87, Seeger 130, Urbana University 139, El Paso/Gridley 171, Shelbyville 231, Paxton-Buckley-Loda 239, Champaign St. Thomas More 291, Downs Tr-Valley 296, Fithian Oakwood 308, Deer Creek-Mackinaw 328, Tuscola 352, Effingham St. Anthony 374, Carlinville 442, Liberty 444, Heyworth 447, Sullivan 447 and Decatur St. Teresa 448. Teutopolis, Neoga and Cumberland did not have enough runners for a team score.

Kate Ahmari of Urbana University was the individual champion with a time of 17:25.70.

T-town's Olivia Copple finished 48th in 20:44.87. St. Anthony's Emma Helmink took 50th with a time of 20:47.06.
