EHS Boys, Girls Finish Fourth at Paris Acklin Cross Country Invite

PARIS -- Effingham High School finished fourth in both the girls and boys Paris Acklin Cross Country Invitationals Saturday.

Winning the boys meet was St. Joseph-Ogden 30 followed by Tuscola 58, Newton 66, Effingham 86, Marshall 119 and Teutopolis 169. Cumberland, Chrisman, Tri-County, Casey-Westfield, Paris and Tri-County did not have enough runners for a team score.

Winning the boys meet was Eli Mojonnier of Bismarck-Henning with a time of 16:43.7.

Effingham's Andrew Donaldson finished seventh in 17:28.90. Also finishing for the Hearts were Garrett Wagoner 10th in 18:07.20; Adam Flack 14th in 18:44.60; Logan Wallace 16th in 18:52.50; Jon Perry 36th in 20:50.30; Aaron Hill 47th in 22:34.30 and Payton Bushue 56th in 24:09.20.

Newton's Nick Zwilling captured second place with a time of 16:57.60. Also competing for the Eagles were Owen Mahaffey 12th in 18;27.90, Nick Shamhart 17th in 18:56.70, Luis Zavala 19th in 19:31.20, Ben Street 21st in 19:37.80, Brock Probst 34th in 29:39.10 and Ian Bowe 68th in 29:39.50.

Competing for Teutopolis were Oliver Lee 43rd in 21:48.9, Jackson Vonderheide 45th in 22:05.80, Devon Probst 51st in 23:14.10, Joseph Lee 59th in 24:54.8, Luke Dnenis 61st in 25:31.7 and Toby Isley 64th in 28:24.50.

Cumberland had two runners competing, Hutson Holsapple 25th in 20:08.50 and Jackson Green 40th in 21:32.50.

In the girls meet, Ava Knap of St. Joseph claimed first place in 20:00.8 minutes.

Winning the team championship was St. Joseph-Ogden with 31 followed by Marshall 58, Newton 75, Effingham 94, Tuscola 116 and Paris 156.

Effingham's Jessica Larson was eighth in 21:48.70 followed by teammates Kayleigh Koester 23rd in 24:02.50, Haddie Hill 26th in 24:13.90, Audrey Wagner 35th in 25:49.00, Morgan Springer 36th in 26:04.40 and Gracie Eaton 57th in 31:52.60.

Newton's Rylea Borgic captured fifth place in 20:52.60 followed by Natalie Kistner 11th in 22:11.80, Ella Radke 24th in 24:08.00, Alexis Hetzer 31st in 24:31.40 and Taylor Slough 44th in 27:53.70.

T-town's Olivia Copple was 28th in 24:26.00, Kaitlyn Vahling 40th in 27:31.60, Katherine Kingery 46th in 28:21.80 and Aubrey Collins 54th in 30:37.10.
