Area Cross Country Runners Compete in Sectionals

There will be several area high school teams and runners competing in Class 1A and Class 2A cross country sectionals
Saturday.

Now's a great opportunity to go out and watch the runners as Effingham St. Anthony High School will be hosting a Class 1A sectional at Mid America Corvette. Girls will run at 10 a.m. with the boys competing at 11.

Teams from around the area for the girls include St. Anthony, Teutopolis, Cumberland and Newton with individuals competing from Altamont, Neoga and North Clay.

Boys teams include St. Anthony, Cumberland, Teutopolis and Neoga. Individuals will compete from Newton and Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City.

The Effingham girls team and one runner from the boys squad will head to compete in the Class 2A Sectional at Decatur MacArthur. The event will be held at Hickory Point Golf Course with girls running at 10 a.m. and boys at 11.
