Area Teams Compete At SJO Spartan C.C. Invite

ST. JOSEPH -- Effingham St. Anthony, Teutopolis, Neoga, Cumberland and Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City competed in the St. Joseph-Ogden Spartan Cross Country Invitationals Saturday.

Winning the boys meet was Urbana University with 81 followed by Monticello 90, St. Joseph-Ogden 132, El Paso-Gridley 138, Deer Creek-Mackinaw 153, La Salette Academy 204, Paxton-Buckley-Loda 205, Tolono Unity 249, Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond 298, Tremont 327, Effingham St. Anthony 329, Carlinville 352, Tuscola 379, Heyworth 383, Seeger 399, Shelbyville 426, Cumberland 464, Teutopolis 473, Delavan 536, Neoga 624, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 644 and Armstrong Township 672.

Winning the meet was PBL's James Ryder with a time of 14:55.32.

St. Anthony's Brian Dust took ninth with a time of 15:47.33.

Cumberland's Michael Carpenter finished 38th in 16:55.88. Finishing first for Neoga was Brayden Cox 70th in 17:31.84. CHBC's Kenny Robbins was 89th in 17.50.33. T-town's Cole Probst was 94th in 17:53.53.

Monticello claimed the girls meet with 63 points followed by St. Joseph-Ogden 106, Urbana University 134, Seeger 149, Tremont 168, Shelbyville 195, El Paso-Gridley 215, Teutopolis 319, Downs Tri-Valley 329, Paxton-Buckley-Loda 358, Cumberland 370, Maroa-Forsyth 378, Tuscola 400, Deer Creek-Mackinaw 407, St. Anthony 428, Carlinville 433, Neoga 486, Heyworth 504 and Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 511.

Monticello's Mabry Bruhn won the meet with a time of 17:27.10.

Cumberland's Jasmyn Dittamore was 12th in 18:48.60. T-town's top finisher was Jessica Runde 34th in 19:45.53. Cumberland's Eve Brown took 58th in 21:06.65. Neoga's Kylee Phillips was 65th in 21:21.30. St. Anthony's Riley Guy finished 86th in 22:44.33.
