Effingham Junior High School picked up cross country victories Tuesday over Mattoon.

The Hearts girls claimed the win, 38-39. Placing for the Mustangs were Haddie Hill first, Morgan Springer third, Ashlyn Davis seventh, Rory Emmerich eighth and Olivia Raddatz ninth.

In the boys meet Effingham was a 17-69 winner. Jacob Weaver captured first while Andrew Lotz was second, Brady Stortzum third, Sam Spicer fifth and Alex Gordon sixth.
