Lake Sara Dam Run Scheduled April 6

The Lake Sara Dam Run has been scheduled for Saturday, April 6. Proceeds will go to support Special Olympics Illinois and Effingham and Coles County Special Olympians.

There will be a Half Marathon, an Eight Mile Run, a 5K Run and a 5K Walk. Pre-registration cost is $45 for the half marathon and $35 for the eight mile run and 5K walk and run through February. From March 1-15, cost will raise to $50 for half marathon and $40 for eight mile run, 5K walk and run.

Half marathoners receive a 1/4 zip tech shirt. Eight mile and 5K run/walkers receive a long sleeve tech shirt. To guarantee a custom designed tech shirt, pre-entries must be received by March 15. A limited number of Torch Run and Dam Run shirts will be availble for sale/trade Friday night and race day.

Special awards will be presented to first overall guy/gal in each race: Half, 8 Mile, 5K Run & Walk. Medals to first 800 to cross the finish line. Half marathoners are guaranteed medals.

Registration on race day will be from 8-9:30 a.m. with 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. start times.
