T-town Wins Girls Regional, Cross Country Roundup

ROBINSON -- The Teutopolis High School girls captured the championship of the Class 1A Robinson Cross Country Regional Saturday.
The Wooden Shoes scored 49 points followed by Lawrenceville 57, Neoga 95, Effingham St. Anthony 120, Newton 135, Robinson 138, Cumberland 150, Paris 167 and Dieterich 184.
The top seven teams and top five individuals, not members of a qualifying team, advance to sectional action. Advancing as teams are Teutopolis, Lawrenceville, Neoga, St. Anthony, Newton, Robinson and Cumberland. Individuals advancing were Ally Compton and Emma Gard of Marshall, Payton Ross and Britney Wright of Casey-Westfield and Jada Smith of Mount Carmel.
Winning the meet was Jasmyn Dittamore of Cumberland with a time of 19:00.19.
T-town placed four runners in the top 15. Morgan Mette was second in 19:08, Jessica Runde fourth in 19:13, Kaitlyn Schumacher 10th in 29:49 and Rebecca Habing 12th in 20:54. The other scorer was Abby Bloemer 21st in 21:52.
Also advancing were Neoga, St. Anthony, Newton, Robinson and Cumberland.
St .Anthony's top finisher was Riley Guy seventh in 20:34. Neoga's Emmalyn Walk was fifth in 19:59. Newton's Abby Stone took third in 19:09.
In the boys meet, Robinson won the team title with 36 points followed by Cumberland 71, Marshall 101, St. Anthony 114, Lawrenceville 136, Teutopoils 148, Neoga 154, Hutsonville 251, Dieterich 264, Mount Carmel 280, Paris 296 and North Clay (Louisville) 298.
The top seven teams advance and those include St. Anthony, Cumberland, Teutopolis, Neoga, Marshall, Robinson and Lawrenceville.
Newton's Nick Zwilling, a freshman, advanced as an individual with a 14th place finish in 17:10. Also advancing as individuals were Cort Ross (Casey-Westfield), Nathan More (Hutsonville), Gehrig Jones (Mount Carmel) and Isaac Stanford (Flora).
Those advancing from the Robinson Regional will head to the Decatur St. Teresa Sectional this coming Saturday. Girls will run at 10 a.m. and the boys at 11 a.m.

Class 1A Carlinville Regional
Altamont and Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City competed in the Carlinville Regional Saturday.
Altamont advanced in both the boys and girls meets while CHBC advanced in the boys meet.
In the boys meet, Carlinville won with 31 points followed by Shelbyville 44, Auburn 109, CHBC 121, Mowequa Central A&M 139, Wood River-East Alton 169, Altamont 194, Greenville 219, Litchfield 231, Alton Marquette 242 and Pana 257.
Along with Altamont and CHBC advancing were Carlinville, Shelbyville, Auburn, Mowequa Central A&M and Wood River-East Alton.
Scoring for CHBC were Dylan Taylor seventh in 17:34, Matt Kelly 13th in 17:52, Gage Richards 26th in 18:40, Jason Baylis 36th in 19:08 and Alec Edwards 39th in 19:21.
Scoring for Altamont were Derick Budde 15th in 17:59, Corey Jackson 33rd in 18:49, Jerod Ruffner 44th in 19:39, Denver Duckwitz 47th in 19:46 and Byron Guthrie 55th in 20:34.
Advancing individually were Cade Bohn of Piasa Southwestern who won the meet with a time of 16:29, Will Carlile (Litchfield), Trenton Markezich (Staunton), Jacob Rummerfield (Albon Marquette) and Justin Erickson (Greenville).
In the girls meet, Litchfield won the team title with 51 points followed by Staunton 66, Shelbyville 82, Auburn 120, Carlinville 131, Moweaqua Central A&M 155, Altamont 156, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 164 and Pana 221.
The top seven teams, Litchfield, Staunton, Shelbyville, Auburn, Carlinville, Moweaqua Central A&M and Altamont advance.
Winning the meet was Staunton's Lydia Roller with a time of 17:46.27.
Altamont's Gia Sandoval was 10th in 21:18 followed by Mary Guse 14th in 21:42, JoAnna Schultz 35th in 23:37, Alyson Hardiek 42nd in 24:16 and Makayla Crow 55th in 27:07.
Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City's Haley Bartels advanced individually finishing 19th in 21:51. Also advancing individually were Riley Vickrey (Alton Marquette), Madelyn Rupert (Hillsboro), Laina Wilderman (Piasa Southwestern) and Lily Baumgartner (Carrollton).
Those advancing will travel to Decatur St. Teresa for sectional action this Saturday. Girls will run at 10 a.m. and boys at 11 a.m.
